In this period of the multi-million dollar contract there remains a place for the all-important volunteer. You can still find them, play-for-fun athletes, dedicated executives, tireless workers behind the scenes, gracious ambassadors whose only reward is the enjoyment they derive from sport. Nint Anderson was that kind of volunteer; and curling was her winter-long obsession following her move to Newcastle from Fredericton in 1948.Junior, Mixed, Ladies and Men's curling (including Ganong Cup play) all benefited from her organizational and promotional savvy. From 1963 to 1975, she served as a member of the executive of the Canadian Ladies Curling Association.She also served as Provincial president from 1974 to 1976. In 1986, she was the first New Brunswicker to receive the C.L.C.A. Appreciation Award for "dedicated and outstanding service to Ladies' Curling." Enrolled in the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame, June 4th, 1989.
